No paths to backup configured on Ubuntu Client installation

I have installed urbackup server on ubuntu-16, later on another ubuntu-16 is configured as a urbackup client and getting this error “No paths to backup configured”. need help

By default I believe nothing is preset. Did you set any paths to be backed up via image or file?

Hi Sherkas,

I added this to define the path: <urbackupclientctl add-backupdir -path />

Hi Sherkas,

I have added this path directory “urbackupclientctl add-backupdir -path /” but no luck, still same message.

urbackupclientctl add-backupdir -x -f -d $DIR

Hi Alex,

I have also executed your command on my ubuntu client and getting below error:

“Error retrieving current backup directories from backend”

Can you try a simple:

urbackupclientctl add-backupdir -x -f -d /home

This should add the home directory obviously but clarify if the path you are using is the problem. If you see an error after this I believe the configuration might not be ready/correct.

You can also try:
upurbackupclientctl list-backupdirs

This should show you every location that is set.

Hi Sherkas,
thanks for your reply.

Let configure the ubuntu client again as I am also suspecting there might be configuration mismatch.

I will keep you posted latest update.

Any update?
