My first full backup hasn’t finished yet, but each server takes about 1 day to index the files (about 1.5tb) and one of them took almost 3 days to index about 6.5tb.
Do the following Indexes (incrementals) tend to be faster?
I’m asking because if it takes the same amount of time, I need to readjust my backup strategy.
Hi there, yes they tend to be much faster since incremental backups do not physically transfer and backup all the files, only the changed ones. The rest are either hard/simlinked, etc.). Its directly proportional to the number of changed files (eg if ALL files have changed, then it’ll be like a full backup, otherwise up to).
