So i have 2 servers, 1 is not an issue, but the other is almost 2tb and huge amount of .mp4 videos, hashing not only takes forever (had to cancel) it kills the whole server.
So i disabled the client side hashing, now my understanding is that now the hashing is done after the file is transferred in the server?
i have no issue with that, but are the hashes returned back to the client? this would make sense to decrease bandwidth use but won’t make sense for secured file integrity
If it doesn’t help next transfer after full backup then what is the point of hashing on server ?
So at this point, what is my best option? Raw transfer and pray files are good?
