File Backups Fail, Image backups work?

I’m running UrBackup Server on a physical Windows Server 2003 32-bit SP1 Standard box with XP SP3 and other Server 2003 clients. Full image backups started by the clients work fine. However, when I run file backups both from the client and through the server in a backup window I receive the following errors:

Creating directory “R:\Backups\pccli01\120212-1849\C:” failed
Fatal error during backup. Backup not completed.
Backup not complete because of connection problems.

Any idea why this is not working?

Sorry. It’s the “:” in the backup path name. Caused by fixing this: https://sourceforge.net/apps/mantisbt/urbackup/view.php?id=11
I’ll post a working version in a minute here.

That client version should work now:

That’s what I thought but I couldn’t find a way to get it to change the patch name to exclude that. I’ll give it a shot when I get a chance. Thanks for the help! And great project by the way, I’d love to see you keep up the development!!

Hi uroni,

It’s still not working…I’m getting one less error now but it still seems to be trying to write the backup path for the C drive with a colon “:” and then stopping because of it.

I take it back, maybe it is working. I think there may have been a conflict where the clients still had a default path specified for C:

When I targeted the default path from the client side through the explorer it worked. I’ll keep testing it out and let you know if I come across any more issues.

Sorry. Should have mentioned that you have to readd the path with the “:” in it…
