I upgraded urbackup server on Ubuntu. The /var/urbackup directory is a symlink to another volume with a few gigabytes of data. After the upgrade the panel said the database is being updated, but then all the users were gone.
I checked the directory and noticed the symlink was replaced with a real directory, and the content was probably fresh (only 95MB).
I deleted the directory and restored the symlink, and all the users were back.
Was this the right thing to do?
Was the database really upgraded or is the content corrupt now?
