I am having the following error in a Windows 2003 Domain Controller that is using Dynamic drives. It was able to create the image backup, but not the file backups.
Errors
27.01.14 11:04
Constructing of filelist of "pandora" failed - TIMEOUT(1)
Errors
27.01.14 11:04
Backup had errors. Deleting partial backup.
I have another Windows 2003 (that is currently running the urBackup server) and it is making both image and file backups without errors. I also have another Windows 2008 R2 64bits that is making backups correctly. The only one with errors is the Win 2003 Domain Controller that happens to be our main file sharing server
I created a dummy folder as “C:\Deleteme” with only one text file in it and used that folder as the only backup path in the Win 2003 that is failing. urBackup still gives me the error, so I guess it is not related to the size of the folder.
I also, changed the account name that is running the urBackup services to the domain Administrator account to see if the error is related to the security but the error still happens.
The backup destination is a shared Synology server that I think runs as an SMB share. But I don’t think the problem is related to the destination because the other two backup clients are making their backups to that same Synology server.

Can you have a look at the client side log file (Default location C:\Program Files\UrBackup\debug.log)? Can you change „warn“ to „debug“ in C:\Program Files\UrBackup\args.txt and then restart the „UrBackupBackend“ Service (or Windows). It should then log a lot more (debug messages). A log file can give me more details about your case. If you can post the appropriate log message here or give me the complete log file by sending it zipped to martin@urbackup.org . Posting in this forum is the perferred form of communication since others may have the same problem.
When crashing UrBackup will also save a crash dump (Minimized memory dump of the application during the crash). It will write in the log file where it saves the crash dump. If you can send me (to martin@urbackup.org ) that crash dump, that would be helpful as well.
Here is a ZIP file with the log and the dmps.
The end of the log is like this:

I think this bug was fixed with 1.3.1. I have released that version. Can you try if this fixes your crash?
Thank you for you help!
I know that this topic is quite dated, but some of my clients also have similar problem. I didn’t find a more recent topic which covered this isssue.
Timeout occures on random hosts. We have ~40-50 files on each host, which are something like 100MB (more or less) so it’s not the problem with the number of files I guess. We are using UrBackup 1.4.6.
