I have urbackup server on a Windows 10 Pro x64 machine, and urbackup client on a FreeBSD 12.1 x64 machine. The urbackup-client package installed without a visible tray icon. I couldn’t make from the source due to missing dependencies.
Given the pre-made client, can I do anything to show the client tray icon?
I’m not using FreeBSD on client side, but I believe that tray icon is only available for Windows. On BSD and Linux you have to use command line to add backup directories, check status etc.
I had trouble with the UrBackup Admin Guide because it seemed to be written for Windows server & client. It doesn’t clearly deliminate Windows vs. Unix/Linux. urbackupclientctl is merely mentioned, and not explored. I spent a couple days trying to get “ALL_NONUSB” to work (it never did) and then another couple days to get rid of it. It kept reappearing after I deleted it. Somehow I now have a successful backup.
