With the previous client I had occasional problems related to the VSS service hanging; after updating to 2.1.17 I haven’t got a successful backup in over 3 Months. During this time a colleague of mine has tried multiple times to reinstall, downgrade, upgrade the client, restarting the server and VSS service. Please help.

If it doesn’t crash, it will hang indefinetely (I’ve waited up to 72hrs) waiting for indexing. During this time, I’ve got many millions of errors in the debug log such as these:
