Backup SYSVOL Error

I am running 42 clients mostly Windows 10 Pro. My server is a Windows Server 2008. I am getting the following errors during all of the backups that the server runs. The backup for the SYSVOL gets to 100% then fails for some reason. Any help would be appreciated.

I am having the same issue. Every backup is failing after what looks like a successful backup of the Sysvol. Wish I could help, but I can’t. Just wanted to post here so you know you’re not the only one seeing this issue.

@shieldsit Which Windows version are you using as server?

@laudate What the the path where backups are stored? What filesystem are you using? The service is running as “LOCAL SYSTEM” user?

It is a UNC path to a SnapServer 520 running GuardianOS 5.2.067(//snapName/Backup). Filesystem is NTFS. Service is running as the Domain Administrator.

Using Server 2008 R2 and saving to a share on a fileserver set like: \\servername\backups

It looks like my setup is very similar to laudate’s.

we here using also a Win2008R2 box with a QNAP TS-431U as backup storage. The NAS is member of the windows domain and the samba share based on “LocalSystem”.

As of version 2.2.x the previously running configuration stopped working with following error:

On the NAS I can see that the Images get create and the log file also tells me that everything on the NAS goes right as expected.

Has anyone made any progress on this? I have tried uninstalling and going back to an older version without any success. I’ve done this trying only the ServerIdent and it still fails on the Sysvol of every machine. So is it a server issue or a client issue?

The file system sync method does not work when the backup storage is a samba share (\\servername\foo). Should be fixed with the next server version.

Ok, thanks for the update. I have changed back to server version 2.1.19 and it appears to be working right now, will update once resolved.

I am seeing the same thing too. After 2.2.9 update showing same as Steffan and failing on all backups again.

Looks to be working now after 2.2.10 update it has run the SYSVOL backups with no errors.

Checked it again and backups are completing successfully! Great Job Uroni/Dev Team!
